PURITY Akuh, female Head Coach of the  Nigeria Wrestling Federation  (NWF), has said that Blessing Oborududu’s performance at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics would  motivate other wrestlers, especially the young ones.

Akuh stated this on Monday in Paris after the Nigeria’s wrestling captain,  booked her place in the semi final of the 68kg category.

She will battle Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kazakhstan in the semi-final for a place in the final which is scheduled for Tuesday.

“This is going to motivate them, especially the young athletes, I am very sure they will come out with surprises.

“She started well as the captain of the team, I think she has done well for the team and they are ready to go” Akuh said.

He said there was still plenty of work to be done in the competition, adding  that he will ensure the athletes are focused on the task ahead for medals haul.

Akuh said he would  go back to the drawing board to ensure Oborududu comes  out victorious in the semi-final against her Kazakhstan opponent later on Monday night (today).(NAN)
