IBRAHIM Kpotun-Idris, inspector general of Police on behalf of the entire members of the Nigeria Police family on Friday, July 14, condoled the family of the late Sule Maitama-Yusuf, Kano government, Emir and entire people of Kano state over the demise of the elder statesman.

Idris who was received by Usman Alhaji, secretary to the state government, on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje at the government house described the decease as a peace builder.

The IGP who also visited the family of the late politician, described his death as monumental and irreparable loss.

The police boss lamented that the demise of the highly respected Danmasani had denied Kano people and the country in general the opportunity to continue to benefit from his wealth of experience.

“The late Maitama Sule showed love to his people who live in his domain, irrespective of their tribe, religious inclination and in spite of these he was a Godly man who has the interest of his Nigerians at heart above any other thing,” he said.

He said that it was significant that throughout his remarkable life, the late Danmasani retained the humble and unassuming mien of a technocrat, saying as a leader, he retained the respect of all and sundry.

“He was a bridge builder, an amiable personality who is at home with his people, whose vacuum will be difficult to fill,” Idris said.

He also described the late Sule as an exemplary leader and bridge builder.

“He was a great leader and his network of friends extended beyond the shores of Nigeria.

He was indeed unique in his leadership and deep in his faith in Allah. May his exemplary leadership in promoting peace, unity and progress of Nigeria be remembered as his legacy towards making Nigeria a better place to live,” IG Idris added.

The Police chief prayed to God to grant him Aljanna Fildausi and to as well give to family the fortitude to bear the loss with calm
