PCCSIGN applauds Tinubu’s grants to upcoming content creators

THE Practitioners of Content Creators, Skit-Makers and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s grants to support crafts of upcoming content creators.
The National President of PCCSIGN, Mr Micheal Nwabufo, popularly known as Mike Premium, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.
Nwabufo, a talent and brand manager, said the group had applied for the FG grants to enable young influencers grow their streaming platforms.
According to him, each beneficiary will be getting the grant ranging between N1 million to N3 million from September to October 2024.
“We want to let the upcoming content creators, skit makers, influencers and models know that we have successfully applied for the Federal Government Financial Assistance Grant for them
“They will be getting this month of September. At least between N1million and N3 million will be sent directly into their account.
“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for this opportunity given to content creators to grow their craft,” Nwabufo said.
He said the grant would help young practitioners buy little production materials like cameras, light, laptops, microphones among other items to bolster creative industry.
The president added: “We are going to be partnering with a bank that will help us create business accounts that will receive the grants for the creators.
“All you have to do is visit @pccsign on instagram, click the link on bio, register and we will get you informed when the disbursement starts this September.
“This money is not for you to lavish but to help you grow and become a successful content creators and influencers cause we know how talented a lot of them.”
Nwabufo, who is also the Ambassador of the Corporate Affairs Commision (CAC), said that he would be paying for 100 upcoming artists to register their businesses with CAC.
He said that the PCCSIGN had also partnered the Nigeria Police to help practitioners to be recognised nationwide, without wrong profiling or harassment.
Nwabufo, however, said that upcoming content creators and influencers had to register and get their ID card on PCCSIGN website.
“Creators should be respected. They are the big deal. We have decided to take these significant moves towards nation building and youth growth in Nigeria,” he said.
Commending the President, Nwabufo said that PCCSIGN had met with the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mrs Doris Uzoka-Anite, to appreciate government’s unwavering support for the creative industry.
He added that the group had also paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, applauding her efforts in empowering creatives and advancing the creative economy.
“Her innovative initiatives continue to create valuable opportunities for the growth and development of the industry,” Nwabufo said.
According to him, content creating is one of the largest growing industry with a lot of revenue for the government.
He said that Nigeria had had a lot of successful content creators who had made impact and were helping others.
Nwabufo listed the practitioners to include Brain Jotter, Oga Sabinus, Mark Angel Crazeclown, Sydney Talker, Lord Lamba, Billion Prince White, Taaoma, Nasty Blaq, Zfancy and many others.
He said that with the “I-dice” initiative for the creative industry, Nigeria would reproduce more talents in the skit making industry.
Nwabufo said that if the upcoming creators and influencers were empowered, the Federal Government would be lifting “thousands, if not millions, out of poverty because we Nigerians are too creative”.
He said that group would soon unveil an award ceremony for content creators /influencers and also national service delivery for public office holders. (NAN)
