MR. Peter Obi, Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate in the February 25, 2023, election has been meeting with different local and foreign stakeholders as part of the continuing consultations over the disputed polls results.

Many believe that the high-profile personalities that have been meeting with him are emissaries of forces that want him to drop his case against the declaration, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as winner of the election.

Several tweets by different supporters of the former Anambra State Governor, however, say that he does not have the luxury of taking such unilateral decision anymore given that those who voted for him, especially the youths who believe that they were the ones contesting the election through him, may revolt against him if he abandons what they consider their mandate.

In a tweet, Mr. Obi, who has had several other such high-level meetings recently said: “As part of ongoing election-related consultations, I met with the head of African Union Observer team, President Uhuru Kenyatta, and the head of ECOWAS Observer team, President Ernest Bai Koroma. -PO.”

It is apparent that the consultations will still continue.
