Philippines impose travel ban on Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Foreign
EXECUTIVE Secretary Salvador Medialdea on Wednesday said the Philippines would ban travelers from Bangladesh, Nepal, akistan, and Sri Lanka from May 7 in effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 variant found in India.
In a memorandum, Medialdea said all passengers coming from or who had been to these countries within 14 days shall be prohibited from entering the Philippines from May 7 to 14.
According to the memorandum, arrivals before May 7 who came from or had been to these four countries would be allowed to enter but would be required to be isolated in government-run quarantine facilities for 14 days regardless of a swab test result.
The Philippines earlier banned travelers from India from April 29 to May 14 due to the COVID-19 resurgence there.
