Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has accepted the resignation of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Rufus Bature, and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Hitler Dadi, with immediate effect.

Their resignations would enable them to contest the 2019 General Elections under the All Progressives Congress platform.

While the SSG resigned his appointment to contest for election into Plateau North Senatorial District in the 2019 elections, Dadi would be seeking election into House of Representatives for Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the 2019 polls.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media and Publicity), Mark Longyen, said Lalong had approved the appointment of Sir Richard Tokma to replace Bature as the acting SSG with immediate effect.

Until his appointment, Tokma was the Permanent Secretary, Policy and General Services in the office of the SSG.

Longyen said, “While thanking them for their invaluable services to the state generally and, particularly, for their immeasurable contributions to the success of the Rescue Administration in the past three years, the governor wishes both of them the best of luck in their political aspirations and future endeavours. The governor also appreciates other appointees who had similarly resigned to pursue their political aspirations.” – Punch
