Police in riot gear, accompanied by high-pressure water cannons have moved in on anti-government protesters in Bangkok.
Thousands of protesters gathered in the Thai capital to call for the government’s resignation, the third consecutive day of such large demonstrations.
Hundreds of police in riot gear broke through a barricade set up by the protesters, while authorities used water cannons against them. Police told protesters to disperse as they slowly moved in.
The protesters are calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha’s government as well as a new constitution and monarchical reform. (dpa/NAN)
