THE Police Command in Enugu State has arrested three suspected notorious house burglars in the Mile 2 axis of Oji River community within the Oji River Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement issued on Sunday in Enugu.

Amaraizu said that the suspects had been a thorn on the flesh of members of the public in Mile 2 axis of Oji River and its environs.

He said that they were arrested in the early hours of Sunday by police operatives of the Oji River Division of the Command through intelligence information.

He gave the names of the suspects as one Somtochukwu, an ex-convict, Onyekeleze Chigozie and Nwali Chikwado all of Ebonyi State.

The police spokesman said that the suspects specialised in burgling houses especially the ones whose owners are not around.

“It was gathered that suspects on Sept. 21, allegedly broke into a house belonging to one Caroline Ekwere of Mile 2 in Oji River community and carted away household appliances as well as other valuables and absconded.

“But the suspects were later through intelligence information tracked to an uncompleted building in the same Mile 2 where they normally use as resting point and were nabbed,’’ he said.

The police spokesman said that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmad Abdurrahman, had directed for a full scale investigation in the matter.

“The suspects have been helping police operatives in the investigation on their nefarious activities,’’ he added
