PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari will attend the inauguration of Nana Akufo-Addo as president of Ghana in Accra, the nation’s capital, on Saturday, January 7. According to a statement on Friday, January 6, by Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Buhari will join other heads of state and government to witness the inauguration of the president-elect and Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president-elect.

“President Buhari once again congratulates Ghanaians on the peaceful elections and orderly transfer of power from an incumbent to an opposition candidate, and commends out-going President John Dramani Mahama for his maturity and statesmanship.

“The president will return to Abuja at the end of the inauguration ceremonies,” the statement said.
