2019: IPAC sensitises voters toward successful general elections in Sokoto

THE Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), on Monday embarked on voters sensitisation exercise towards a free, fair and credible 2019 general elections in Sokoto state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exercise was part of the council’s voters education to cover the geo-political zones of the country.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the roadshow, the Deputy National Secretary, IPAC, Eunice Atuejide, commended INEC for facilitating the exercise.

Atuejide, who was represented by the National Secretary of National Interest Party (NIP), Mr Efe Onodavberoh, said the exercise remained historic in the nation’s democracy.

“Unarguably, the collective role of political parties, under the aegis of IPAC has been paramount in the patriotic function of Nigeria’s democracy and nation building.

“Today, the IPAC National signpost voters’ education and sensitisation, the roadshow and workshop/seminar are reputed for contributing immensely for free, fair, violence free and credible elections since the 2010 governorship display.

“It also showcase the IPAC’s vehicle and instrument of peaceful election nationwide and will impact significantly and positively on the 2019 general elections,” she said.

Atuejide called on Nigerian voters, security agencies and stakeholders to support IPAC efforts toward deepening the country’s democracy through free and credible elections.

NAN reports that the group went round major roads and market places across the state capital distributing handbills containing messages of ensuring peaceful 2019 polls. (NAN)
