The ongoing refurbishment of the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka and other public institutions in Anambra is part of the rebranding the state.

“It is also part of making Anambra to become synonymous with excellence,’’ C Don Adinuba, the commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, said.

Adinuba was responding to questions over ongoing refurbishment of the secretariat for the first time since its delivery, about seven years ago.

He added that the process was part of making the work place condusive for the state workforce.

“With the renovation, the staff will be happier in carrying out their duties effectively.

“For instance the cracks in the walls, the toilets, the damaged floors and the air-conditioning systems were being repaired. This will motivate the staff to put in their best.’’

The reform also touched on schools and various Health Centres across the state.

The idea was to make all public institutions to have the right atmosphere where government business could be carried on.

The schools need to have improved environment for learning to be carried on, so that the students could improve their knowledge base to continue to excel both at home and abroad.
