NO fewer than 10,000 registered members of the Agunechemba Support Group have unanimously vowed to return Governor Willie Obiano to complete his `excellent achievements’ he started by voting him in on November 18, governorship election.

The group under the leadership of Annie Okonkwo organised a `Solidarity Endorsement Rally’, at Emmaus House, Awka.

The rally was to offer their support to Obiano by involving leaders of the group drawn from the 326 wards in Anambra.

The organiser and the leader of the group, Okonkwo, a chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, said his decision to support the present administration was because of their unprecedented achievements.

Okonkwo, who described Obiano as blessing to Anambra, noted that the governor had recorded tremendous successes within three years at the helm; more than what his predecessors achieved.

He said that he had no prior `agreement whatsoever’, with the governor for support during the election.

Okonkwo stressed, “I am only mobilising the grassroots for him because, I am convinced that Obiano’s re-election will benefit the generality of Ndi Anambra’’.

He explained that he was successfully investing in the state because Obiano provided security and stability that helped to create the enabling environment for investors to return.

Victor Oye, the national chairman of APGA, said at the occasion that there was no division in the party and re-assured that members of the Agunechemba Support Group would be integrated into the party’s campaign structure.

According to him, all that matters is to return Obiano during the November 18 polls.

Willie Obiano, then, expressed appreciation to Okonkwo and members of the group for the overwhelming show of solidarity toward him.

He urged the members to endeavour to register with APGA at their various wards.

He pointed out that he was seeking re-election to enable him to consolidate on the achievements of his administration, especially as it concerned security, agriculture, youth empowerment and investments promotion.

Obiano pledged to ensure that power would be successfully be transmitted to the South Senatorial District on completion of his second term.

Mike Ogbaru, a former PDP stalwart, said that every meaningful individual in the state should support Obiano, describing him as the best governor in the country.

The highlight was decoration of Ogbaru with APGA regalia and adopting him as a member of the party.
