Dele Olugbemi, former factional speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, says he took Tope Aluko, former secretary, People Democratic Party, Ekiti State to the state Governor Ayo Fayose on Sunday, April 3, dismissing claims that Fayose stage-managed the reconciliatory meeting.

Tope Aluko, former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State may not easily riggle out of the allegation that he apologised to his estranged friend, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti. It was reported that Aluko begged Fayose to forgive him over his previous statement disparaging his election as the governor of the state.  But Aluko later denied that he ever did such a thing, saying that it was stage-managed.

But Dele Olugbemi, former factional speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, has said he took Aluko to Governor Fayose on Sunday, April 3, dismissing claims by Aluko that Fayose stage-managed the reconciliatory meeting. According to him, he along with Aluko prostrated to  Fayose three times to beg him to forgive him.

A statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti stated that Olugbemi was surprised that Aluko addressed the press and claimed that he spoke to journalists on Sunday under duress after willingly attending the meeting on Sunday with the governor.

However, Aluko has maintained his stand, insisting that Olugbemi was being used by the governor to sustain the propaganda against him.
