THE Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners, Anambra State will hold the 2017 senior staff promotion interview on February19.

Leo Imoka, permanent secretary of the ministry, said this during an interview with newsmen at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

According to Imoka, those already confirmed due for promotion are the junior staff whose examinations have recently been concluded on February 6.

He said that workers from grade level 7 and above for elevation would be expected to have spent three years before being eligible for promotion while from levels 14 and above would have spent four years before being promoted.

On the number of people shortlisted, he said majority would be drawn mainly from those employed during 2013 recruitment exercise while others would be few higher cadre officers.

The permanent secretary confirmed that the ministry received a template and the names of participants would depend on available finance.

“Some of this things depends on the available finance, if you have finance you may spread it to two or three days, but if you do not have enough funding, you squeeze it into two days.’’

“Promotion is a morale booster to civil servants as they do not have any other sources of income. It motivates workers to do more work,’’ Mr Imoka said

He, however, urged the participants to get prepared and read wide saying, they should understand the duties for their offices as this would be part of the interview.
