Anambra legislators celebrate 3rd year in office

Anambra State Legislators have celebrated her third year in office at the legislative complex, Awka.

The current lawmakers were sworn into office in June 2015 to make good laws aimed at ensuring continued development of Anambra State.

They are also expected to carry out oversight functions as and when due as well as conduct budgetary process for the state.

Rita Maduagwu, the speaker of the House highlighted the achievements of the legislators within the three years under review.

She noted that 40 bills had been passed into law and dully accented to, by Willie Obiano the governor of Anambra State.

Maduagwu also pointed out that adopted 300 resolutions during the period.

Pete Ibida, the member representing Njikoka 2 Constituency, commended the governor for the cordial relationship existing between the three arms of Government.

He also thanked the people of Njikoka 2 Constituency for their prayers and solidarity during his three years in office.

Nikky Ugochukwu, member representing Orumba South Constituency, also praised Obiano for his commitment toward a better Anambra.

She noted that the Speaker, Clerk and members of staff of Anambra State House of Assembly performed creditably within the period too.

Other members who spoke during the celebration include, Ikem Uzoezie, Aguta 2; Romanus Obi (Orumba North); Obinna Emenaka (Anambra East); Victor Okoye (Anambra West); Charles Ezeani (Anaocha 2) and Lawrence Ezeudu (Dunkofia).

The legislators, however, pledged to be more committed to their duties for betterment of Ndi Anambra.
