ANAMBRA State Government has released standard ‘acceptable fencing design’, for all corporate, private and government institutions on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

Tony Nnachetta, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, unveiled the model during a news conference at Awka on March 8.

He said the design was developed by Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA.

Nnachetta said Obiano at a state Executive Council Meeting on March 2, directed that all establishments and private buildings on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway would have to conform to the ‘acceptable fencing design’.

Nnachetta explained that this was aimed at enhancing the physical appearance of structures to promote beautiful environment in line with Obiano’s vision to achieve ultra-modern and aesthetically developed state.

He said the people concerned, would be expected to restructure or rebuild their existing fences to align with ‘acceptable fencing design standard’.

Nnachetta said a fencing approval would be given out without charge but would be in conformity with ACTDA requirement.

He named the areas concerned to be from Amansea axis on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway to Bridge-Head, Onitsha axis.

He told newsmen that he was using the opportunity to inform all concerned to strive to co-operate with government in order to avoid embarrassments.

“The rebuilding exercise will last for a month,’’ noted Nnachetta.

The exercise would begin soon.
