Anambra Scouting Movement calls for support

LEVI Ezeudogu, the Anambra State Scout commissioner, has called on Government to allocate a parcel of land to the association to enable the Scouting Movement to build their camping site.

The Movement also pleaded with government in addition, to provide them monthly subvention to enable them to effectively run their affairs.

Ezeudogu made the call at the Ezeike High School, Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area during an induction of new members.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano, Justice Peter Umeadi, the chief patron of the Association and retired state chief judge, the state’s president of the group for support to the association.

ThankGod Ekwunife, the principal, Ezike High School, Nibo enjoined youths to join Scouting Movement and emulate the good behaviours of its members.

Ekwunife, chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers , NUT, Awka South LGA, thanked the Anambra Scout commissioner for choosing his school as camping ground for the training.

Felix Chukwuemeka Ndive, a resource person for the ceremony, urged members to be good ambassadors of the association, wherever they are.

“I had wanted to turn down the offer, but considering the functions of this Association, which is for the good of the youth and the people I decided to accept the offer,’’ he said.

Ndive, who is also the director, Accounts Department, Office of the Secretary to Anambra State Government, SSG, promised to do all he could for the association to move forward.

Daniel Ifeanyi Chukwuka, a member of the association, expressed satisfaction at the success of the event.

“I am delighted to see my fellow youths gather in an occasion like this, sharing views and ideas.”

No fewer than 60 youths were inducted as new members of Nigeria Scouting Association.
