Anambra State Chapter of PDP holds stakeholders meeting

THE leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP gathered in Awka, the Anambra State capital on July 20 for an unprecedented and uncommon stakeholders meeting.

The meeting, which lasted for hours, attracted prominent personalities in the Anambra State Chapter of the PDP.

One of the personalities, who was at the meeting was Ambassador Ike Oligbo, of Umuoji in Idemili North local government of Anambra State, who flew in from the UK.

Addressing the stakeholders at the meeting, Oligbo stated that he specifically flew in from the UK to express his love and support for the party that is excellently led by Ndubisi Nwobu, Ogbuka Awka.

In his speech, Nwobu applauded the enthusiasm of Ambassador Oligbo, especially his singular act of flying in from the UK to participate in the meeting.

The Chairman also commended the efforts of Ambassador Oligbo in building the PDP in his Umuoji ward in particular, Anambra and Nigeria in general. He stated that for PDP to consolidate on its success achieved in the state in the last general election, efforts should be geared towards total development and strengthening of every ward, which is the base at the grassroots.

He therefore called on all stakeholders to emulate Ambassador Oligbo, who not only flew in from the UK purposefully for the stakeholders meeting, but has also been building and strengthening his Umuoji ward by donating functional office for the ward.

Among other notable personalities who were present at the meeting were Sen Ben Obi and Sen Uche Ekwunife. The two distinguished Senators are respectively former and current Senators from Anambra Central.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the cutting of birthday cake in honour of Peter Obi, Okwute Ndigbo, the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP in the just concluded general elections in Nigeria, who celebrated his 58th birthday on the 19th of July, 2019.

Other highlights of the meeting were the endorsement of the Ndubuisi Nwobu led executive in Anambra State through a communiqué that was read after the meeting.

The Communiqué signed by the trio of Kenneth Enemuo, Rose Nwankwo and Helene Nwaeri, applauded the harmonious working relationship among the elected members of the party, the leadership and other members.

In addition, the PDP Anambra chapter through the communiquè expressed its unflinching support for Peter Obi and other party candidates, who are presently in various tribunals undergoing various processes of recovering their mandates.

The party stakeholders also expressed their unalloyed support for the Uche Secondus led national leadership and all the policies and actions to make the party stronger.
