Governor Willie Obiano has received a report of the State’s Reconciliation Committee for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Obiano on November 8, inaugurated a 10-man committee to inquire into alleged crises that trailed the last APGA primaries.

The committee headed by Uju Okeke, a member of the APGA Board of Trustees, has Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, a special adviser, Political to the governor, as its secretary.

Other members include are Mike Kwentoh, a former APGA state chairman; Theophine Nnoli; Solomon Anusike; Chinyere Ibenta; Andrew Nwanosike; Boniface Egbutue; Charles Okongwu, and Primus Odili, the chief of staff to the governor.

Receiving the report at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Obiano promised to implement the recommendations to the letter, in order to restore peace and unity within the party.

Obiano while commending members of the committee for their tremendous services within a short time-frame, assured that that the reconciliation would be extended to other states, so as to pacify all aggrieved members.

“The chief of staff, Odili, commissioner for Local Government Matter, Greg Obi, Special Adviser Political, Obiokoye, Mrs Confidence Azodo and the State Party Chairman, Norbert Obi will be among committee members to ensure full implementation of the recommendation.

“This committee has only a week to commence and complete every recommendation to the best of our ability,” the governor re-assured.

Okeke explained that their methodology cuts across all aggrieved members in the party.

She noted that the committee painstakingly met with every aspirant, candidates, political appointees at different levels, state APGA executive, to ascertain possible measures that would enhance unity.

She observed that through their findings, they all agreed to embrace peace and move together to achieve success at the upcoming 2019 General Election.

The state chairman, APGA, Obi commended the committee for the onerous tasks and reassured, they would not leave any stones unturned in promoting peace in the party.
