THE National Executive Committee, NEC, of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has dissolved its Board of Trustees, BOT.

The dissolution was unanimously adopted by the members of the NEC during its meeting at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia on May 14.

The meeting involved all members of the National Working Committee, state chairmen and secretaries across the nation, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, National woman leader, elected party members in Anambra, Abia and Taraba states.

The BOT members had served the party meritoriously for a period of four years.

Labaran Maku, the national secretary of the party and former minister of Information, while reading the communiqué, said that new members would be nominated before the forthcoming National Convention, scheduled for May 31.

Maku noted that other congresses would hold as follows; Ward Congresses – May 19, Local Government Congresses – May 21, while States and Zonal Congresses would take place on May 23.

He announced that the party would retain its earlier zoning formula for the distribution of national offices, while members who took the party to court without exhausting internal mechanisms were expelled.

It was observed that the NEC met last on December 21, 2016.

Earlier in his remark, Governor Willie Obiano, who spoke in his capacity as BOT chairman before the dissolution noted that the party had remained the third largest party in Nigeria.
