Bauchi Governor Assents to N135Billion Budget

GOVERNOR Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State, on Friday, March 25, signed into law the 2016 appropriation bill of over 135 billion naira tagged: “The Budget of Revival,” which he said was formulated in line with the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Abubakar said the budget would help make life easy for the common man as he had promised during campaign.

The 135, 303, 100, 010 budget in the 2016 fiscal year, is made up of capital expenditure taking N70, 407, 990, 843 and recurrent expenditure having N64, 895, 109, 167.

The Governor assured of judicious implementation of the budget in accordance with the rebranding programme of his administration in clear departure from the culture of the past.

Governor Abubakar thanked the legislature for the speedy passage of the bill into law; an action which he said further confirmed the Assembly’s concern for the plight of the people and its determination to support the executive to improve the life of the common man.

The appropriation bill, which is the first by the administration of Governor Abubakar was presented to the Bauchi State House of Assembly early in the year and was just passed into law last week, few days before the National Assembly passed the 2016 appropriation sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
