GOV. Abubakar Bello of Niger has commended members of the state House of Assembly for the timely passage of the supplementary budget that promotes transparency and accountability in governance.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Mary Berje, in Minna on Friday, Bello also commended the effort of the state legislature for their deliberation on the medium term framework.

The governor lauded the continuous support of the lawmakers and pledged to improve on the already existing cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.

He assured residents of his administration’s determination and commitment in providing social amenities in the areas of education, health, agriculture, security and infrastructural development.

Bello expressed optimism that the inauguration of new commissioners would hasten completion of ongoing projects for growth and development of the state.

The Niger State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed into law the 2019 Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N30.24 billion.

The House passed the bill following the presentation of the report of the committee on Appropriation.

The 2019 budget size now stands at N194.247 billion as against N164.5 billion initially approved. (NAN)
