PAUL Iorpuu Unongo, spiritual leader of the Tiv nation, has given the Federal Government two weeks ultimatum to end the killings in Benue State, threatening that indigenes of the state would raise an army of million persons to defend themselves.

He gave the warning during the burial ceremony of the 73 persons that lost their lives during the Fulani invasion of communities in Benue beginning on the first of January 2017.

Among those that were buried were four-year-old Terkaa and Mrs Sarah who was slain in her eight months of pregnancy.

During the occasion, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, also declared that he would not be “cowed” by reports of members of the livestock guards who were alleged to be in possession of arms.  – Independent
