AS the protest over the arrest and illegal detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and executive director of Radio Biafra, continues in many parts of the southeast and south-south regions of the country, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice, CHRSJ, a human rights group, has concluded arrangement to drag the President Muhammadu Buhari before the International Criminal Court of Justice, The Hague.

The group said they will drag the President before the court for extra- judicial killing of unarmed peaceful protesters in Port Harcourt for demanding the unconditional release of Kanu. CHRSJ condemned President Buhari for ordering the military men to shoot at sight of the protesters which lead to the brutal death of few protesters, insisting that Buhari has committed an offence against the innocent citizens of Nigeria which he pledged to protect while taking the oath of office.

Reacting to the series of the attack against the activists IPOB by the military personnel and anti-riot policemen on the order of the President Buhari that the protesters should be shot at sight, Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, executive chairman, CHRSJ, frowned at the way and manner the unarmed peaceful protesters in Port Harcourt and part of the South Eastern and South-South Nigeria, were being attacked in a democratic era, described the attack as undemocratic, anti-people and criminal in nature, insisting that President Muhammadu Buhari led –Federal Government has committed a serious offence against humanity because the blood of those who lost their lives and sustained injuries during the brute force attack of the IPOB protesters would continue to hurt the President.

Speaking at the launching of a book titled:”Foot Prints Since 1931: Story of a Nigerian Teacher and Politician,” in Lagos on Wednesday, November 11, Sulaiman, who declared his total support to the peaceful protest embarked upon by the IPOB over the illegal arrest of their leader, said the arrest of Kanu is illegal, tribal, unlawful and unconstitutional. He demanded for his unconditional release from the custody of the federal government.

He strongly condemned President Buhari for ordering security agents to face the harmless peaceful protesters with brute force which was against the principles of democracy that give the citizens freedom to assemble and protest to pressurise for their home demands. “The order being given to security agents to shoot the harmless peaceful Protesters of the indigenous People of Biafra demanding for the unconditional release of the executive director of Radio Biafra, Comrade Nnamdi Kanu.

“The brute attack on the harmless protesters shows the level of religion and ethnic bigotry on the part of President Muhammadu Buhari. But, we have informed our lawyers to prepare our paper on the attack and file it before the International Criminal court of Justice on the allegation of extra judicial killing against President Buhari.

“We believe that leadership should be about service to humanity, not to use brute force of despotic days of military era on the innocent citizens of the country. We want international communities as well to investigate the regime of President Muhammad Buhari because during his military days in government, Buhari likes to shed blood of innocent citizens .There is no different between Buhari’s government and Olusegun Obasanjo’s government which illegally sent the troops of military personnel to criminally destroyed Odi and Zakibian communities in Southern Nigeria. Why have these people targeted to kill innocent citizens of the country during their reins in power?” he questioned.
