President Muhammadu Buhari has started to operate from Presidential Villa, three weeks after his inauguration as president on May 29

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday resumed in his office inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the first time since he was inaugurated on Friday, May 29. Shortly after his resumption, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo joined him.

Sources said while Buhari and Osinbajo were meeting with some of their aides, service chiefs arrived for a meeting with their commander-in-chief.

Three weeks after his inauguration, President Buhari on Sunday, June 21, relocated to the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Aisha Buahri, his wife, had moved in earlier on Thursday, June 18.

Ahead of permanent move to his official residence on Sunday night, Buhari had in the afternoon, visited the Villa where he stayed for about 30 minutes. He later returned finally in the evening. Sources at the Villa said that security details and other staff of the Presidential Villa were on hand to receive him.

Truck loads of equipment moved into the Villa on Sunday evening ostensibly bearing the personal effects of the president, who returned to Abuja from Katsina State, weekend.

Both Buhari and Osinbajo had been operating from the Defence House since they were sworn in on May 29.
