SOLO Chukwulobelu, the secretary to Anambra State Government, SSG, on Thursday, October 12, eulogised the late Andrew Umeobi, who he said, contributed to the progress of Anambra State while he was alive.

The SSG said this during a burial mass of Umeobi, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Aguluzoigbo, Anaocha Local Government Area, LGA, of Anambra State.

“It is a pity that Umeobi died a year after his retirement, as permanent Secretary in the Anambra State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, without living to enjoy his retirement benefits,” he said.

Chukwulobelu also observed that Obinwa was productive, diligent, kind, friendly and above all a true Christian, whose Christian life was made manifest in his relationship with staff, irrespective of cadre.

The SSG prayed God to comfort the family and grant the deceased eternal rest.

Chukwulobelu, then, extended the condolences of the Anambra State Governor Chief Willie Obiano to the family and the entire Aguluzuigbo Community for the irreparable loss.

Earlier, in his homily, Jude Nwankwo, a reverend father, while extolling the virtues of Umeobi, reminded the congregation “how short life is and enjoined them to live humble lives’’.

In attendance were Peter Okpaleke, the bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Catholic clergies, Mrs Ngozi Melifeonwu, chairman Civil Service Commission, and college of permanent secretaries.
