THE newly elected executive committee members of the Nigerian Civil Service Union, NCSU, Anambra State chapter have been introduced the EXCO members to Anambra State Head of Service, HOS.

The members were introduced during a courtesy visit to Harry Udu, the HOS.

Paul Uwaeze, the team led by its chairman, met with the HOS at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.

In a brief remark, Uwaeze on behalf of the group expressed their delight with Udu for being supportive of the union.

He said the purpose of their visit was to introduce the new executive, renew their loyalty and readiness to stand with him and the service.

The chairman, however, listed some of their setbacks as a lack of utility vehicle as provided the other labour groups as well as financial support to the group.

Jerome Ilokwu, the newly elected vice-president of the union in the South East Zone, thanked the HOS for his wisdom in piloting affairs of the service in Anambra, while noting that NCSU remains the oldest labour group.

He pleaded with government to take cognisance of this in admininistering its members.

The HOS Udu while welcoming the EXCO, congratulated the new officials, assuring them of his continued support.

Udu, then, promised that government would support them, but that at the moment too many projects were running at the same time.

According to Udu, Anambra remains the most workers-friendly state and as such there would be no need for labour actions within the state.

“We are enjoying the administration of Chief Willie Obiano that keeps the welfare of the labour force top in its agenda.’’

Other union members include Jude Obiekwe, the vice-chairman; Kingsley Egwuiga, the state secretary; Ezechukwu Njideka, the asst. secretary; Judith A Okoye, the treasurer.
