JOHNBOSCO Igboka, a reverend father and Catholic cleric, has urged the Catholic faithful to make heaven their target and remain steadfast in God’s vineyard.

This will help them to attain greater heights in all spheres of life, he said.

Igboka gave the advice in a homily to mark the silver jubilee priestly ordination of Michael Jude Nwajiobi, a reverend father, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Nimo.

Igboka, who is the parish priest of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Nkpikpa, Onitsha described the celebrator as `God’s chosen vessel’, and prayed God to continue to broaden his horizon so that he could go places.

“You have to double your effort with a view to winning more souls for God. Never you, lose focus on the reason of your calling,’’ Igboka admonished.

Alphonsus Ezeoke, a reverend father and the parish priest of the Church, congratulated the celebrator for clocking 25 years of great services in God’s vineyard.

Ezeoke urged him to continue to strive higher so as to lead people to God.

“I thank you for devoting yourself to the services of the Lord without looking back. I commend you for standing on the truth, no matter the situation,’’ he said.

Norbert Onyedinma, the deputy vice-chairman, Parish Council, described Nwajiobi “as a brother, a workaholic, who works with great enthusiasm’’.

Onyedinma, a principal emeritus, commended the celebrator for his many achievements in the course of his stewardship.

Maureen Nwajiobi, a reverend sister, described Nwajiobi as a great source of light, a treasure to the Church and an inspiration to many through his pastoral ministry.

“His total commitment, devotion and dedication to God in his priestly vocation have been exemplary.

“His love for God, prayerful life, integrity and generosity of heart are exceptional,” Sister Nwajiobi said.

The celebrator commended all who converged to felicitate with him and prayed God to continue to sustain them with good health of mind, body and also keep them in the faith.

The event attracted some personalities, including Chukwuma Soludo, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and Peter Ibida, the member representing Njikoka II Constituency in the state Assembly.

There were various cultural dances, group photograph and cutting of the jubilee cake to mark the event.
