THE Nasarawa State House of Assembly has suspended its legislative activities for two weeks to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.

Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Speaker, disclosed this on Wednesday after Alhaji Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader brought the issue under matters of public importance during plenary in Lafia.

Abdullahi said that the House would continue partnering with Executive to tackle the spread of the virus in the state and the country at large.

“I want to thank the majority leader and other members for your positive contributions on this matter.

“We are committed to the welfare of our people, we are committed to the health of our people as a healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” he said.

Abdullahi directed that staff on management level particularly directors should continue to report for work.

“Security agents should also remain in their duties posts to take control of the House,” the Speaker added. (NAN)
