DISTRIBUTION of empowerment packages to qualified persons trained in various skills at Anambra State Vocational Centres will commence after the tours to 21 Local Government Areas, LGAs.

Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of Anambra State governor, announced this at Nteje during her empowerment tour/August visit to Oyi LGA.

“Traditional rulers and their wives should collect names of those to be trained from their communities for the next batch.

“Our vocational centres are open for all and are committed toward training more unemployed persons to be independent entrepreneurs.

She announced that Anambra was placed first in healthcare campaign for children and mothers, noting that there had been a decrease in maternal mortality rate in the state.

Osodieme as Obiano fondly known, encouraged pregnant women to make use of the antenatal and post natal facilities at the hospitals, and ensure their children, aged from 0-5 would be vaccinated to prevent sight and hearing defects.

She thanked the people of Oyi for their overwhelming reception and for re-electing Governor Willie Obiano, her husband a second term.
