Steve Ibenta, a professor of Finance at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,  has commended the decision of notable politicians in Anambra to join APGA to provide solid political base for South East geo political zone.

A statement released by Ibenta, chairman of the Anambra State Christian Pilgrims’ Welfare Board hailed Stella Oduah’s decision to join APGA, describing it as a welcome development. According to him, this is has been accomplished via the instrumentality of Governor Willie Obiano.

He noted the governor created conducive environment for politicians to work together for the common good.

Ibenta observed that Nigeria’s initial tripod political arrangement – North, East and West was still relevant, but lamented that while the North and West maintain power at the centre, the political structure of the Eastern region appears disintegrated.

“This, he said has left the zone without a united front as a strong voice in National scheme of things.’’

Ibenta advocated that South East and South-South would be better off, if political heavyweights from the zones could rally round a party like APGA to demand for equity, justice, restructuring, and true federalism.

“If this happens, the will no longer be taken for granted,’’ he said.
