ETHNIC community leaders Association, Kano State (ECLAK), on Friday appealed to non-indigenes not to flee the state over the fear of violence during the forthcoming general elections.

Rising from a joint executive council meeting with traditional rulers, presided over by ECLAK president, Dr Ayelangbe, held in Sarkin Igbo Palace in Sabon Gari, Kano, the association asked non-indigenes not to flee Kano, assuring them that the security agencies have put measures in place to guarantee the security of lives and property.

In a statement, Ayelangbe said, “Adequate security arrangements have been put in place to protect voters before, during and after the elections.

“Every voter is free to vote for any party of his or her choice, without fear of intimidation from any quarter or group.” – Punch
