THE National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Niger, Mrs Theresa Arokoyo, on Thursday commended corps members in the state for discharging their duties diligently and being non-partisan during the just-concluded general elections.

Arokoyo gave the commendation while addressing corps members during the passing out of ceremony of 2,063 members in 2018 Batch A Stream, in Minna.

The coordinator, according to a statement signed by Mrs Favour Albert, Head,Public Relation Unit, also commended the corps members for their meritorious and exemplary conduct during the period of their service year.

“I am impressed by the corps members’ diligence and patriotism while performing their electoral duties during the just-concluded general elections.

“The contributions of corps members to national development and unity were an indication of their belief in the corporate existence of the country and democracy,’’ Arokoyo said.

The coordinator urged them to remain good ambassadors of the scheme in all their life endeavours.

“I pray that the Almighty God bless and guide you all as you move into the larger society,’’ she said.

Arokoyo said that three corps members would be re-mobilised and another three would have their service year extended for absconding during their service year. (NAN)
