Some domestic observers in Bauchi state have expressed satisfaction with the voting process in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly polls in the state.

Speaking with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Saturday, the observers said the exercise was to a large extent, credible.

“Honestly speaking, the voting exercise here was fair and the process went on the way it should be.

“People complied with all electoral laws as no record of violence or disruption of voting exercise was recorded so far.

“I have been observing since morning and there was nothing like underaged voters; I am using this opportunity to give credit to INEC for achieving this feat,” said Mr Augustine Edmund, representing Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bauchi state.

Another domestic observer, Mrs Asabe Shina representing Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) expressed the same feeling.

“Everything wnt on smoothly since commencement of voting; from my observation, the process had been free, fair and credible so far.

“The only problem I noticed was that election materials came to some polling units late,” she said.

Mr Sulaiman Adamu, representing Northern Youth and Elders Foruma, said there were minimal hitches recorded at polling units, adding that the process was smooth and violence-free. (NAN)
