THE applicants selected under the federal government’s N-Power Scheme have started undergoing physical verification at the 774 local government council headquarters in the country.

At Idemili South Local Government Council Headquarters, Ojoto, the verification exercise began on Monday and was headed by the National Orientation Agency, NOA.

According to Monica Azodo, the community orientation and mobilisation officer in IDSLGA, their duty was to ensure that the qualification declarations and personal data posted by the applicants on the internet correspond with their original credentials.

Afolabi Imuokhuede, the senior special assistant to the president on Job Creation/Youth Employment, explained that the verification was not the final recruitment as those with false declarations in their applications would be disqualified.

Imuokhuede noted that after the compilation of successfully verified candidates, the final selection would be followed by deployment of the volunteers to the Agro, Teach and Health categories.

“Out of 2.54 million applicants, 2.25 million had their bank verification number, BVN, validated prior to the assessment test phase while only 1.75 million responded to invitations to write tests.

“Successful candidates after verification will be deployed to the various categories,” Imuokhuede said.
