THE candidate of the People’s Redemption Party for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani, says there is no security threat that could lead to violence in Kaduna State at the moment.

Sani, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent in Kaduna on Thursday, explained that his supporters had yet to express any fear of violence.

He said no one had threatened or stopped them from carrying out their lawful activities within their neighbourhood.

He said, “The actual conduct of the election would determine whether there would be violence on the day of the election. If we have a free, fair and credible elections and people are satisfied that their votes actually count, there would be no need for crisis.

“It is only when the security agencies are used to manipulate the election and intimidate the voters that there could be an outbreak of violence because that would be going out of place.”

Investigations by our correspondent within the Kaduna metropolis on Thursday revealed that the electorate are actually willing to cast their votes in an atmosphere of peace on Saturday. – Punch
