CLEEN Foundation, a non-governmental Organisation, has advised the Federal Government to revamp the criminal justice system in the country and equip the police for holistic investigations.

Mr Joshua Sebiotimo, Cleen Foundation’s state coordinator gave the advice in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

Sebiotimo said that there was also a need to sensitise the public to the existence of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) and Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA).

According to him, human rights are inalienable, indivisible and interdependent; hence, the public should be enlightened, their rights should be respected at all times by persons and organisations saddled with the responsibility of enforcing the law.

Sebiotimo urged stakeholders to organise seminars, simplify the law and the act with adequate sensitisation on the contents and distribute them to all security agents to guide them in their operations.

He said that this would ensure that the security agents and agencies and law enforcement agencies were kept abreast of the new innovations in the law.

Sebiotimo said that the foundation would begin to monitor the effective implementation of the ACJL and the ACJA in the country and in states where the laws have been domesticated.(NAN)
