FISCAL Responsibility Commission (FRC) of the Presidency has advised the Management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) to send its staff for refresher training on Procurement and Planning.

The Team leader in charge of North West, Mrs Amina Mohammed gave the advice on Wednesday, when she led a team to inspect the Federal Government’s projects at the hospital.

She explained that the commission had observed some lapses regarding contract tender and planning of the projects which she said could be improved upon.

The team leader urged the hospital to integrate their plans into their budget, noting that the action could make work easier for the hospital.

Mohammed then commended the hospital management for the laudable projects executed so far at the hospital.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Aminu Zakari, explained to the team that the staff of the Procurement Department had attended trainings at various levels.

He, however, expressed appreciation for the advice to send staff for refresher trainings, saying that the hospital would be glad to do that.

NAN reports that during the visit, the Team had inspected the new Dental Department and the School for Post Basics Studies located within the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that the monitoring team from the Fiscal Commission of the Presidency was in Kano to inspect various projects of the Federal Government. (NAN)
