THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Command in Bayelsa has decorated 36 newly promoted officers and marshals in the command with their new ranks.

Speaking at the ceremony in Yenagoa on Friday, the Sector Commander, Mr Ikechukwu Igwe, said that the promotion was in line with the FRSC efforts to achieve safer roads.

Igwe advised the promoted officers to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and dedication in the discharge of their duties.

“Promotion means adding more responsibilities, and you know to whom much is given, much is expected.

“I urge you to continue to work in accordance with the corps’ laid- down rules and regulations for us to achieve our vision of crash free on the roads,” Igwe said.

Mr Felix Odika, the state Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, who was one of the special guests, urged the officers to be more committed to duty.

Assistant Corps Commander, Mrs Dorothy Okorie, who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers, said she gave God the glory for the promotion.

“I thanked the FRSC’s management for making the much-desired promotion a reality. I pray that we will continue to work harder for national development,” Okorie stated. (NAN)
