THE Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Friday offered prayer to deceased accident victims in Zaria, Kaduna State.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prayer, which was held at Park Road Juma’at Mosque, Sabongari, Zaria was organised by the FRSC Zaria Unit Command.

The Zaria Unit Commander, FRSC, ACC. Abubakar Murabus-Tata said the prayer was in commemoration of 2019 African Road Safety Day/World Day of Remembrance of Victims.

Speaking after the prayer session, ARC. Idris Yahaya, Head of Public Enlightenment, FRSC, Zaria, said the prayers was part of activities lined up for the commemoration of the day.

He said the unit of the commission had earlier visited Muslim Hospital, Danmagaji where they sympathised with patients and donated some laundry items to them.

Yahaya added that on Sunday another team from the unit would observe a similar prayer in the Church in commemoration of the day.

He used the occasion to call on motorists to exercise cautious while plying the road, stressing the need for road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations.

Yahaya urged both motorists and passengers to be patient while on a journey, adding that sometimes passengers used to show eagerness to reach their destinations.

He called on drivers to avoid speeding, overloading, reckless overtaking, dangerous driving and all other forms of wrong driving.

“It is better to arrive late than to be a late. Therefore, I urge motorists to always drive with caution in order to arrive safely.” (NAN)
