THE Anambra State government has resolved to continue its community development project initiative.

Governor Willie Obiano said this at the Community Primary School, Anaku during his `Thank You’ tour of Ayamelum Local Government Area.

“The third phase of N20 million Community Choose Your Project Initiative will soon commence in communities that have since completed their first and second phases.

“My visit here is to express my gratitude to you for voting for me during the last governorship election on Nov. 17, 2017.

“I assure you of my government’s resolve to commence and complete all ongoing road projects in Ayamelum LGA,’’ Obiano said.

He added: “the government you voted for at the last election is still in charge of community development projects for another three years and will not stop working for you.’’

The governor urged them not to relent in their support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidates to ensure continuity in execution of projects.

Victor Oye, the national chairman APGA, commended the development strides of Obiano across communities in Anambra State.

“As a serving governor, Obiano will like to complete a total of 905 projects before leaving office in 2022.

“I urge you to join forces with APGA to ensure victory for all our candidates during General Elections because we have gained national popularity in recent times.

“APGA is a party that presents candidates that are ready to serve the people with clear intention and vision,’’ Oye stressed.

Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works, noted that contracts for some roads in Ayamelum LGA had since been awarded.

“Contracts for the construction of Omasi-Uno road and repair of Umor-Umolum and Umor-Umumbo roads have been awarded.

“Presently, palliative repairs are ongoing from Aguleri junction to Anaku junction road while contractors have been mobilised to commence work on Coscharis Farm Road,’’ Ifejiofor said.

Greg Obi, the commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, said the “Community Choose Your Project Initiative is solely Gov. Obiano’s initiative and has not been done anywhere in Nigeria.’’

“Bidding has commenced on the third phase of the initiative; adverts on the initiative will be made public later in the week,’’ Obi said.

Ben Onyeabo, the transition committee chairman, Ayamelum LGA, pledged that Ayamelum would continue to support the Willie Obiano administration.

“We thank our governor for the ongoing road repairs in Anaku and around Ayamelum LGA,’’ Onyeabo said.

Obiano then presented APGA flag to Uche Okafor, the Anambra State House of Assembly candidate, for his re-election.
