THE Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Anambra says it is poised to ensure that registration of eligible voters ahead of the 2019 General Elections is achieved.

This indication was given by Comfort Nyeh, electoral officer of the Commission in charge of Ihiala Local Government, LGA, during stakeholders meeting held at the council’s headquarters, Ihiala.

She said the commission would ensure that all registered voters would be eligible to collect their permanent voters’ cards before the 2019 polls.

However, she added that the continuous voter registration in Anambra would end on August 17.

Nyeh explained that the commission would move its registration team to wards in the Ihiala council area to facilitate the registration of eligible voters.

She urged stakeholders in all communities to sensitize their people on the need to collect their PVCs.

On the issue, President-General of Mbosi Town Union, Mr George Obizulike reported that no fewer than 200 eligible voters were registered when the INEC official visited the town.

Obizulike, then, urged all eligible voters in Mbosi yet to register to do so before the deadline for close of the exercise.
