THE Woman Leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, on Wednesday urged female members to attract more people of their gender into the party.

Okoya-Thomas spoke during a visit to the East Senatorial District Women Forum, in Ikorodu Local Government Area.

She also called on women to mobilse people in their various wards for registration and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The Woman Leader, who was a three-term member of the Federal House of Representatives, said that the increase in number of women would help to determine their representation in offices.

“Our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu emphasised membership registration at the stakeholders meeting he called recently,” she said.

Okoya-Thomas gave her party members an assurance that the party would win at both the federal and state levels in 2019, noting that President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State had done well.

She said that no woman must be left behind in the scheme of things, urging them to join in helping the party to swell its ranks, and bring in more votes, come 2019.

“The date of PVC collection has been extended, so we should continue to drive people to collect their PVCs. We have to continue the work till February, 2019,” Okoya-Thomas said.

Also speaking, the East Senatorial District woman leader, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, commended Okoya-Thomas for her kindness and love for women in the state.

She urged her to continue her sensitisation on the importance of women involvement in politics.

Gbadebo called on women in the state to continue to support Okoya-Thomas, saying that she meant well for the womenfolk and the party in general. (NAN)
