Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state on Monday advised corps members posted to the state to maintain healthy relationship with their host communities during their one year scheme.

The governor gave the advice in his address during the closing ceremony of the 2018 Batch “C” (Stream 1) orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Gbakuta, Iseyin.

“I urge you to cultivate and maintain a healthy relationship with your host communities, the people of Oyo state are very hospitable and accommodating.

“This you will soon discover through your relationships with them. You will also pleasantly discover the many similarities in our culture.

“However, you may find a little difference here and there, that notwithstanding, the people‘s traditions, norms and ways of life must be respected,” he said.

Ajimobi, represented by his Deputy, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo, assured corps members of excellent hospitality, adding that their security and welfare would not be compromised.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Ambekemo Eniola, said that the over 2, 000 Corps members posted to the state were peaceful during the three-week-long orientation course.

“I wish to report that the corps members have been equitably posted to all the nooks and crannies of the 31 local government areas of the state.

“I, therefore, appeal for support from the good people of Oyo state to ensure that these corps members are warmly received by their various host communities,’’ she said. (NAN)
