THE All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Ikorodu Local Government Council have promised to deliver the highest number of votes for the party during Saturday gubernatorial/ state assembly elections in Lagos.

The stakeholders made the promise at the political office holders’ forum at Ikorodu in preparation for the governorship and state House of Assembly elections on March 9.

Mr Sanai Agunbiade, Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly said that the the forum was organised, to sensitise electorate on how to vote with the pointing finger to reduce void votes.

Agunbiade urged voters to be peaceful, resilient and determined against any odd they might encounter during the election and to cast their votes for APC.

He also urged them to ensure casting their votes rightly to avoid the ink spilling out of the box.

“We are committed to deliver the highest votes come Saturday; in fact, Ikorodu will deliver the highest; my appeal is that people should be resilient against all odds,” Agunbiade said.

The Chairman of the council, Mr Wasiu Adeshina, said that the meeting was also organised for the stakeholders to ensure that they deliver their wards during the elections.

Adeshina commended members of APC for their commitment and advised them to come out enmasse, on Saturday, to cast their votes to all APC candidates for state House of Assembly.

He also urged the electorate Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to be next governor.

“The first step is to sensitise office holders on our plans and ensure that the number of votes in Ikorodu is high.

“We are striving more so that we can garner more votes for our party, APC, in coming election.” Adeshina said.

Mr Adebisi Banjo, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Developmental Council (LCDA), said that there were plans to make sure more people come out to vote for APC.

He said this was to ensure that the number of Permanent Voter cards (PVCs) collected would be almost equal to the votes.

Banjo said that during the last presidential election, although there was a large turnout, many people were still in their various houses.

“Our determination is to enlighten more people to come out and vote, last election has shown that a lot of people with PVC did not come out at all.

“This time, we want to deliver the highest vote to our party, APC, during the next election, that is the reason for our meeting,” he said.

Mrs Olajumoke Jumbo, Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, also urged members to be committed to the cause of the party with a promise to carry everybody along.(NAN)
