MONICA Ada Chidinma Eze, the founder and president of David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda, DUNAETA, a vibrant, virile grassroots NGO based in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, has commended Governor Dave Nweze Umahi for his hard work. DUNAETA, which is at the fore front of the re-election bid of the governor in 2019 noted that the vision and mission of Umahi towards emancipation and rebuilding of Ebonyi to the status and position envisioned by the founding fathers of Ebonyi State was now getting required results while also giving special recognition to the governor.

Eze who also a technical assistant on Media to Umahi in a press statement issued in Abakaliki on Wednesday, June 6, described the recent avalanche of awards, national recognition, traditional titles, endorsements bestowed on Umahi as being the result of his efforts to restore the glory of Ebonyi State.

Eze aka Ada Ebonyi went further to describe those opposing the re-election bid of the governor as politicians that were not happy and comfortable with the high standard Umahi had set in the state.

She reassured the governor with the efforts of DUNAETA and other similar organisations that had adopted him and ready to mobilise the entire state efforts of the enemies of democracy and good governance would surely an exercise in futility.

The DUNAETA president describes Umahi as an exceptional and patriotic leader for appointing Charles Akpu-Enika, an Anambra State-born as a commissioner and member of the state executive council, seven Hausa and six Yoruba as technical assistants, TAs, stating that the appointments of non-indigenes were the highest by any state government in the federation. She commended the non-indigenes under the umbrella of Urban Forum residing in Ebonyi State for endorsing and adopting Umahi as their sole candidate in the 2019 election.

According to Akpu-Enika, the leader of the forum, “we wish to warn critics in the state to steer clear, saying that they cannot be deceived by falsehood and propaganda being peddled by opposition elements, as the 2019 general elections draw near. Since the emergence of the current administration, incidents of land grabbing and intimidation has stopped because of the disposition of the governor, anybody coming to deceive us will be resisted. We won’t allow those who call themselves opposition deceive us. They are those who are against us.”

Akpu-Enika, an Anambra State-born Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development explained that about seven Hausas and six Yoruba people were appointed as Technical Assistants to the Governor; a thing he said had never been done before now.

“We have witnessed empowerment of widows, empowerment of youth and these are done without segregation as to where you come from. We have witnessed restoration of peace Ezillo and Ezza/Ezillo, now tell me why or what any person can advance as reason why we should not even beg Umahi to continue the good works” Akpu-Enika said.

Eze commended both the Conference of Commissioners and Conference of Special Assistants to Umahi, all the local government areas and towns that had endorsed and adopted the governor for second term.
