No plans to leave APGA – Obiano



GOVERNOR Willie Obiano of Anambra State he has declared that he had no plans to leave his party, the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, for the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

He told State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on November 23, 2017. Obiano re-stated that such defection would be inconsistent with my objective in the party.

“No. Never. That is totally unfounded. I will never leave APGA. I am the leader and the BoT chairman of APGA and again by God’s grace the governor and governor-elect of Anambra,” he said.

Obiano said that he was only on a thank you visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, for keeping to his word and allowing a free and fair governorship polls in Anambra.

According to the governor, the president was excited over his visit and assured him of his respect for the wishes of Anambra people to freely elect a governor of their choice.

The governor, who said he has extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents in the election to turn the fortunes of Anambra around, assured that he was prepared to work and would not disappoint the people of the state.

“To have a landslide win in the 21 LGAs shows the faith the people have in me. I thank Ndi Anambra for their confidence in me. I want re-assure them that this will encourage me to work harder,” the governor remarked.
