Obaseki swears-in new HOS

GOV. Godwin Obaseki of Edo on Monday in Benin swore-in the new Head of Service (HOS) for the state, Mr Isaac Ehiozuwa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ehiozuwa, who had been the Accountant-General of the state, took over from Mrs Gladys Idahor, who retired from service earlier this month.
Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, Obaseki said the vision of his administration was to reform all aspects of the state civil and public service for optimal performance.
He said his administration had started the reforms in the physical environment adding that the responsibility of the new HOS would be to reform the people in the service.
“We have resolved to give world class training to our civil servants and you will help reshape the civil service to ensure that everybody that works for the State Government must be ICT compliant.
“We know you are hard-working and have the capacity to bring the desired reform in the sector”, he said.
The governor urged the new head of service to build on the legacies of his predecessors and bring his wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his duties.
Ehiozuwa said his new appointment was a call to service, promising that he would live up to the confidence reposed in him.
‘’I will do my duties with diligence. I will put in my best which will be for the best interest of the state,’’ he said.
He said his vision for the state civil service was excellence and proficiency in service delivery by all civil servants, and promised to leverage on the experiences of his predecessors in office.
