Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has been nominated to receive an award as the best governor on security by the Security Watch Africa’s Board of Trustee.

The grand ceremony, schedule to hold from Nov. 13 to Nov. 15 at the Lambrando Canal Beach Resort, Banjul, The Gambia, would be part of activities expected to feature at the 15th Africa Security Watch Awards Conference.

According to a statement signed by Patrick Agbambu, the international co-ordinator, Security Watch Africa, said the body decided to chose Obiano for the award after careful assessment of his commitment to security matters.

“The decision to confer on him this award was made after careful assessment of his commitment, dedication to the security of lives and property of the people of his state.

“The security architecture that he has developed is being currently implemented; we have found this to be second to none in Africa,’’ he said.

The group added that the event being organised in partnership with the Stetarbeach University, South Africa, would also feature presentation of certificates to dignitaries from Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.
