Obiano completes Achina-Onneh road project

ANAMBRA State Government has completed the asphalting of 1.5 km Achina-Onneh road project.

“We have since commenced the construction of major roads, leading to communities in Orumba North and Aguata Local Government Areas (LGAs),’’ Gov. Willie Obiano said.

The governor made this known during a Fund-Raising ceremony for a proposed Peter University, Onneh, Orumba South LGA.

Some other roads that were ongoing include, Ezira-Umuomaku road with a bridge as well as ongoing asphalting of Peter University road.

The governor said that he would continue to provide necessary social amenities that would add value to the people geared toward making life easier for them.

“My administration has ensured installation of electricity in Orumba North and South. It is from a dedicated line from Oji River that will ensure 16 hours of steady electricity,” Obiano said.

Obiano, then described education as veritable tool to acquire tomorrow’s `meal ticket’ and advised the youth to tap into the huge investment of his government in education to withstand future global challenges.

He noted that the effect of his investment in education was predicated on internal and external examinations, where Anambra youths were currently leading.

Earlier, Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Dioceses, stressed the importance of education, saying the country would not transformation without quality education.
